Go Freights Have Raised Their FUnd to $23M to become “Shopify of freight Forwarders”

Unicorn flexport has decided to revolutionize the logistics world with its offering. It serves as a freight forwarder company with software that helps customers to manage their shipments. However, there are still several other smaller freight forwarding companies that might be running outdated spreadsheets or ERP software.

One such startup named GoFrieght would like to help them compete by offering a Shopify of freight forwarders that also has the backend software, which makes operation smooth. It also has a front end that helps you to set up the storefront and provide quotes within less time.

It is a Taipei and Los Angeles-based startup that has decided to raise its fund to 23,000,000. This is the series A Funding which is led by headline and flex capital. The round also includes participation from Palm Drive Capital, LFX venture partners, and returning investors like Red Building capital, Cornerstone venture, and Mucker capital.

GoFrieght has 1000 customers currently and helps to manage good transportation through the land, air, and ocean. The company also helps to set up the online storefront in just a few clicks. All the potential customers can just connect to the spread forwarding company by sending an inquiry through the storefront gate quotation within a few minutes of time. They do not make a delay of 24 to 48 hours, which is usual in other freight forwarding companies.

You can easily track the shipment after the freight forwarding job is authorized. There is the EDI integrated tool that provides real-time information so that customers and freight forwarders have knowledge about their shipment containers. Customers can also incorporate accounting tools on the tracking software using the platform so users will be able to know the shipment performance and how it is affecting the earnings.

Trenton Chen – who is the CEO and Co-founder, got his Ph.D. and masters from the United States before joining TSMC. During that time, some of the most common startup programs, like AppWorks, were getting attention, and the CEO decided to become an entrepreneur. He gave six months to come up with a decent idea. This was a time when other co-founders were living in Los Angeles and working as an importer of their family businesses.

As mentioned by Chen, “When I was in the States, I knew a lot of people in this industry as well. So many of our good friends asked us to go there and see how bad the software is. So in the last month of my six month period, I decided to give it an opportunity, bought a ticket for three months to go to LA and spend time with the first 10 freight forwarders, learning how they do business with software. We founded GoFreight after the first week we were there.”

He also says that the freight forwarding company is unique in several ways from other startups. They have tried to touch every aspect of freight forwarding and want to make the overall task seamless.
