Chrome for Android and Google app receive easy shortcuts to Google Lens

Whether you are browsing pictures on the internet or looking via your camera, Google Lens makes a great technology to know more about what is visible in an image. And now, Google Chrome for Android and Google app are gaining easy shortcuts for searching nearly any picture via Google Lens.

On October 15, Google shared developments from the previous year as well as the upcoming new features for Google Search via its first ‘Search On’ event. In the event, the company shared that the Google Lens was receiving an upgrade that will help it become more accessible in Chrome for Android and Google app.

Now, when you browse through pictures in Google app in an Android phone, you can start a Google Lens search of an image by long-pressing on it. The same functionality is coming soon to Google app in iOS. In both the cases, starting a Google Lens search from Google app would pull up one Google Lens tab in the end of your mobile screen, containing the search results.

In the same way, the long-press option for images in Chrome for Android has been replaced with ’Search with Google Lens’ instead of ‘Search Google for this image.’ Tapping on this new option opens Lens functionality available in Google app.
