It seems that this sweet little bird is making a lot of news for its new CEO. The tech giant and owner of Twitter has again taken the news with his new activity. It has been reported that Elon musk has fired over 90% Indian staff in the weekend as reported by Bloomberg. It says that, “ The organization is constantly depleting the engineering and its product staff in today’s huge market of potential growth.”
It can be easily understood that Elon musk has this habit of firing his employees.
The Indian branch of the social media initially employed over 200 people and after the cutting made by the new CEO of this company, only a dozen of staff is left. People who were accustomed with this new activity were asked about the names but they are not coming forward due to their matters sensitivity. These offices are located in Bengaluru, Mumbai and New Delhi.
There is no denying that India is one of the potential markets for the global internet companies like Twitter. India alone has a huge range of users on Twitter. However, this organization has been facing “increasingly strict content regulations aimed at reigning in big tech firms in the country.”
In a report it has been seen that 70% job cuts were made in India from the engineering and product team which was working on the global mandate as mentioned by one of the people.
A lot of positions were also smartly slashed across different functionalities like public policy, corporate communication and marketing the same people shared. Globally, Twitter offices present in California have faced a huge reduction in the headcount by almost roughly 3700 workers.
As we had continuously faced that this is one of the most common platforms where some of the political conversation from different competing parties in the nation takes place with the major accusation and allegations that this market is taking a storm and becoming one of the most potential social media platforms.
Taking PM Narendra Modi as an example, he alone has more than 84 million followers on social media.
The report also adds, “It is unclear how Twitter expects to moderate that discourse with its newly reduced staff in the country, which has more than 100 languages,” adding to it, it was reported that this huge organization has only 3700 employees left in the global market.
This new CEO is pushing the employees who are not able to move faster and in some cases, he has found employees sleeping at the office and unable to meet their deadlines. However, on Monday it has been heard that Twitter has asked the fired employees to show up once again in the office.
