How to Disable Crash Detection Feature on iPhone and Apple Watch

With the launch of the iPhone 14 and new Apple Watch models, Apple introduced a new safety feature called Crash Detection. Crash Detection is a wonderful feature by Apple which is able to detect the situation when you are in trouble and need assistance.

It can contact emergency services in the event of a severe car crash If you are planning to visit any Amusement park, then you must want to disable this feature. This is due to many reports that claim that The feature triggers on Rollercoasters.

We all know that it is an algorithmic-based feature that operates using a combination of onboard sensors to determine if the user is in a severe car crash. However, it will be helpful to disable this feature when you are visiting any Theme park to prevent any awkward situation

How to Disable Crash Detection Feature?

The procedure for disabling Crash Detection features is simple and straightforward. The steps are:

1)Go to settings

First of all, open the Settings of your Apple device. Now,  Scroll down and tap “Emergency SOS.”

2) Disable Crash Detection

Under the Emergency section, you will find many Emergency features. Scroll down and tap on Crash Detection to turn it off

3) Confirm Crash Detection is disabled

Next, you’ll be prompted with a disclaimer explaining that turning off the feature will prevent your device from automatically making an emergency call. Tap “Turn Off.”

Follow the same procedure to turn it on again. This setting is tied to the Apple Watch Crash Detection setting, so toggling it off on iPhone toggles the feature off on Apple Watch also.

How to Disable Crash Detection Feature on Apple Watch?

  1. Open the Settings app
  2. Scroll down and select “SOS”
  3. Scroll down and select “Call after Severe Crash”
  4. Toggle the setting off, then accept the warning to turn off Crash Detection

Remember that, you will always need to enable this feature manually.
